Like everything else in order to be successful at something, it all starts with educating yourself. Don’t jump right into anything thinking that you’ll start making money right away. I’ve been at it for years now and I just started to make some money. My mistake was not knowing enough about what I needed to initially know. I will help you avoid this mistake and save you both time and money. You will have to dedicate some time to educating yourself. There will be things you will need to learn whether it’s simply navigating a site or how the internet works. Here I will share the main things you must learn in order to start making money online.
Learning SEO: The Language of The Internet
There are so many ways you can make money online and no matter what method you choose, the most important thing you will have to learn is SEO. Look at SEO being the language of the internet. It’s like being in a foreign country! If you don’t speak the language, can’t read, and don’t understand SEO, then how do you expect to get around? No matter what method you choose to make money online, you will need to implement SEO to it. Some methods require more than others, but knowing SEO is a necessity in order to make money online. You can start with The Beginners Guide to SEO and, after reading all 10 chapters, then you should be good to go! I suggest that you take notes and write down any ideas you might have on how you can implement it to your next venture (along with any questions you might have so that you may Google them later).
Getting Familiar With Your Tools and Resources
After you’ve gained a fair amount of knowledge about SEO, you would want to learn about the particular platforms that you will be using. If you were to use Google Adwords for your keyword research, then you should learn how to navigate it, learn the tools, and understand the vocabulary used. If you decide to try and make money with Google Adsense, reassure the same thing. You must learn how to navigate it and understand the vocabulary being used. Do some further research on the two… like, “how to make money with Adsense,” “How to use Adsense effectively,” or any other questions you might have. It would be good to get in the habit of searching for answers on the web since, in this field, you will have tons of questions.
Learning About Your Method
Once you become fairly knowledgeable about SEO and the different sites and platforms that you will be using, you can start looking for ways to make money. Let’s say you are interested in making money with blogs, for example. Whether you choose WordPress, Blogger, or any other blogging site, you would want to get familiar with the dashboard. I suggest you do some further research for that particular method, like… “How to make an effective blog,” “How to make money with your blog,” and “How to start off your blog right.” Remember to take it step by step. Don’t bother with Googling “How to get traffic to your blog,” just yet unless you already have one.
You will be doing a lot of research throughout your journey, but educating yourself beforehand will get you on the right path. After you have acquired some knowledge, you may even do some gigs for people if you need to make some extra money. You can read up on my “How to Make Money Offline Using Online Resources” post to see how you can make a quick buck along with a possible residual income.
Remember that the first step to any successful business is educating yourself. By doing what’s suggested in this article, it should give a good start in increasing the chances of your actually succeeding where many others have failed.
This is a great article for making money online. I would like to add that there are many methods that can accomplish this, so it’s very important to find one that you can stick to. Oftentimes people jump from method to method before they get the first one right. I also agree that educating yourself is the first step towards any successful business. Great post!
Hey Will,
I agree, I used to jump from method to method myself and failed to realize that it would take a lot longer for it to work than the amount of time I put into it. As previously mentioned in several of my posts, If you pick something you are interested in then you will be more likely to stick with it. Thanks for adding on to this. That is a very good point.
Hello Bernard,
I too had a same experience. You know, I jumped into the field of making money online more then once and left. At last I got to know what you have described here in this post….gain initial knowledge and now after initial learning I have started making a bit. Yes, you are right. knowledge is the key.
Hi George,
I’m sure we aren’t the only ones who experienced this. I saw money in working online I just didn’t know how since the things I tried didn’t work. Now I know what works and I’m simply sharing it with everyone.
Thank you for stopping by.
